The Science of Positive Psychology and Employee Well-Being

Wellness programs are key to supporting employees in their health and performance at work. But what about well-being? Isn’t this the same as wellness?

Surprisingly, it’s not.

In this webinar recording, Paula Toledo explores what well-being is and how it is different from wellness, using research-informed practices and evidence-based models of well-being from positive psychology. Ms. Toledo highlights the research behind positive psychology and how you can implement key practices to transform wellness programs into well-being programs.

You will learn ways to implement positive psychology practices using the five pillars of well-being PERMA (Seligman, 2018) and exercises that can be implemented to promote human flourishing: positive emotions, engagement, better relationships, meaning, and achievement. Paula will highlight the research-based principles to promote sustained behavior change with the goal of an overall healthier and happier team environment in the workplace.

Here are some questions that will be answered:

  • What is positive psychology?
  • How does well-being differ from wellness?
  • How can you implement positive psychology practices to transform wellness programs into well-being programs?
  • How have HR managers successfully implemented positive psychology practices in working environments?

Paula Toledo is a TEDx speaker, Canadian Mental Health Association Advisor for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, and holds a Master of Positive Psychology from The University of Pennsylvania.
